Too different to be the same

This is a poem about a relationship that didnt work out.

I should have known
that you could never love me
I should have known from the start
that it could never work out

We both picture different lives
Were heading in the opposite direction
I want things in life
that you've never even thought of having

You just want to settle down
with someone you can spend the rest of your life with
but i want bigger things
a career and everything that comes with it

We are too different to be the same
We can never just be one
We are too different
to ever last

You have found somebody
that wants the same things in life as you
that persons not me
but I should never have expected it to be

I should have known
