Just Yesterday

A friend asked me to write this poem in memory of someone who had passed away.

Just Yesterday

It's been almost a year since you've been gone...
but to most it feels like only yesterday
that horrible phone call...
"Brandon's been in an accident...I'm sorry he didn't make
it"

The next day as the tears roll down my face
I see...
I was not the only one who cared for you...
many did...

how foolish was I to think that...
you were a great person,
missed by so many...

It was almost a year ago...
but to so many it will always remain
Just yesterday
