My first earnest attempt at poetry, about an ex.

why are you still here
watching
from a distance
always watching.
i try to forget you
remove you
wipe you from my mind
but still you hover there
watching
always watching.
no matter what i do
what i say
still i feel you
see you
sense you
watching
always watching.
why do i still love you
care for you
want you
to be there
watching
always watching.
why are you still there
creeping in
invading
at inopportune moments
watching
always watching.
i hate you
the thought of you
of what you did
and yet
i let you stand there
watching
always watching.
i hate you
no
i still love you
that's why
you're there
tucked away
in the corner of my mind
watching
always watching.
