Tears of Rain

Poem I wrote one rainy evening.

Splashes pelting outside my window
The whole world is asleep
I am alone in the darkness
Cold blanket of night surrounds me
Afraid to sleep, afraid to dream

I feel each drop on my skin
Pouring from the blackness
Drowning in the sorrow
Wet face not knowing
Wether it be rain or tears

Remembering when we cried together
But neither knowing why
Did I cry of pain, of love not to be
Did you cry of shame, of love you couldn't have
One more second and I left alone

Did you love me then
As you love me now
Eyes that were not mine
Shedding drops of pain knowing
My face is wet from tears of rain
