What it's like to have a new kitten |
| I looked in the yard and what did I see? A brand new kitty looking back at me! She seemed so afraid, no mom to be found, I brought her inside and showed her around. White paws and a vest, her main color gray, A queen in her robe, quite royal you'd say! Names were all chosen, then narrowed to one, We all liked "Fraidy", picked out by my son. I bought her some toys, a new little bed, A few cans of fish, and now she is fed. She wanders around, her tail flying high, Poking her claws in my wife's apple pie! I sit in my chair and dangle a ball, She jumps pretty high, does back flips and all! She plays when she wants, ignores me at will, Mostly she'll lay on the old window sill. I tell her to listen, lay down the laws, She'll give me a look, then sharpen her claws! My chair is all shredded, what can I do? I'll wait till she sleeps, sneak up and yell "Boo!" Written by S.S.
