Snow Day

Can you resist the temptation?...

It was a beautiful day

And I wanted to go

Out in the yard

To play in the snow.

I wanted to slide

Down a hill on my sled,

And throw monstrous snowballs

At my dorky friend, Jed.

Across town to Grandma’s

I would then go,

To make very fat snowmen

In her yard of white snow.

As I told my mom

What I wanted to do,

I quickly put on

My coat, hat, and shoes.

Then just as I thought

I was ready to play,

My mom starts to laugh

As she says Not today!

Honey, there is no snow

In the middle of May!
