A poem that came to me the day a friends mom left this life for Heaven. |
| As She Felt the Master Call She was humming an old hymn As she felt the Master call. Her life on earth was testament To her family and us all. Her love for God and family Shows through each and every one. This matriarch of the family Her work on earth is done. When she stands before her Maker The account of life she'll give. What a tale she'll have to tell Of the way you all now live. For seeds God gave her to sow. She will hear "You did well My good and faithful one." Of how her teaching fell. Of church and faith and family And how each one will grow And of harvests still to come In life's steady ebb and flow. Of love, faith, and family The children of this one Who have come to love the Lord Because of all she has done. Generation after generation, Generations know the Lord; Prayer warrior, guide, protector She taught them each to be in accord. Though today she is in Heaven, This faith we hold true. She's the matriarch to them all And in heaven she'll see you. Doris Warner Parish October 3, 2006 |
