Midnight Confession

A confession from a man looking and hoping to reach the stars.

I want to be the astronaut
Who is known through all the world.
The man who reached the Heavens
And talked to God himself.

I want them all to know
That I was a man who lived.
Stuck as an image of time.
Sealed within the stars.

I want to show my child
That nothing can't be done.
His vast imagination
Has no limits but the stars.

I want to be the first
Who dances up on Mars.
To make the longest jump

That I did this all for you.
Somehow with this little act

I wish that you could only see
Through my eyes this time.
The image that you mean to me.
The angel you’ve become.

That I have really changed.
