A Poetic Prayer

Formerly titled "heart" - this is a poetic prayer

clean my heart, O Lord
make me new again
burn inside me Your Word
that I may know You as Friend

hear my heart, O God
tear down the built up walls
comfort me with Your rod
as You send the answer when I call

strengthen my heart, I pray
while in Your will I remain
till I soar as an eagle in noon day
I will walk and not faint

try my heart with Yours
find all unrighteous ways
throw them out of heaven's door
so in Your arms I forever stay
