Love that was lost

There was a time

There was a time I could still feel
the early morning sunrays warming
my cheeks as I appreciated drops
of glittery gold dew in my rose garden.

When I use to feel the sand tickle
my toes, as I strolled along the beach.
When the sturdy dark clouds
over the mountains seemed so far away.

Now all hope has left me.
Sorrow and despair follows me
like lightning after a thunder strike.
All seven sins keep creeping up on me

My life turned into a hurricane within only a few days

There was a time when
I thought I know how to love,
what love meant and how
you feel when you are in love.

Now I am overwhelmed
with emotions I cant explain.
Feelings rushing through my mind,
overwhelming my heart.
Feeding on me like a lion feeds on its pray.

I don’t know where it all went wrong,
where everything started?
I should have seen it come.
I should have feel the presence of
disappointment slowly creeping near.

Now all I can remember was that once there was a time.
