A special gift once given me
Straight from the heavens above
A tiny infant to call my child
For me to raise and love

No manuals or instructions
Came with this child of mine
I’ll just have to do my best
And we will learn in time

If only you could ever know
The joy you brought to me
You gave my life new meaning
And my eyes new ways to see

You’ve taught me much throughout the years
Together we have learned
We’ve made mistakes undoubtedly
But the happiness we’ve earned

The years have quickly passed us
A baby you are no longer
But still my child you’ll always be
