A poem about a lost loved one

We think of you as gone away,
but in our hearts you'll always stay.

You've been through war, you've saved the day.
When we get lost you light the way.

I know deep down that you're still here.
Always with us, always near.

Dauntless, daring, brave and strong,
A part of you still lingers on.

We see it in our childrens' eyes.
That part of you will never die.

The Greatest Man we knew and loved
now watches us from up above.
