My Monster

The damage of being beaten is hidden beneath myself

Storming me as if it where a hurling monster

Attacking my hopes of ever being a person again

My low self-esteemed battered ego leaving me

Lost to myself forever, in a never ending nightmare.

Of ever reaching the beauty within myself.

Long walks, restless from worry, endlessly drifting

Love - never spoken, feelings read between the lines

Nightmares of nightmares, wrenching sleepless nights,

Remembering his kiss on my bloody lips -

My consequence for unconditional love

Abandoning pleasure to madness

That echo of childhood memories behind locked doors

Solitudes of never being held-

Who shall find the little girl who was left behind

Hiding within the tears of mine on black eyes?
