Written back when I didn't need to be warned about walking with my heart on my sleeve |
| I’m going to bump my head sometimes... Mamma told me you were wrong for me, Looked at me with teary eyes, Begged me to stay away, But I didn’t listen to Mamma, So I bumped my head hard against a wall And it took me sometime to get up on my feet, I know it must have hurt her To see her child in pain, "But Mamma I learned to grow up And dust of all the dirt." Yes, it used to hurt just looking at the scar, But now it’s just a faded memory And a reminder that life does not always Turn out like you want it to be. “So Mamma, You be proud of me, I’ve to learn one less lesson From the million more to come!...” By: Anthia Verine Moultrie |
