Homesick

don't want to give anything away...just read it

I have suffered all my life
I want you to see
I have carried this since birth
A disease inside of me

It’s not a swelling nor a bruise
Not bleeding anymore
It’s more like a throbbing pain
Suppurating and sore

I have tried so many things
From therapy to herbs
I have taken tablets too
But none of it has worked

Every expert in this land
By now I have met
They had no answer or a clue
They shrugged and shook their head

It seems to be cured every time
I go to a place called home
But it’s ten times worse again
When I’m on my own.

Suddenly I understood
The fault could not be mine
I was simply born and raised
In the wrong place and time

The reason is so crystal-clear
It was not hard to learn
I just have to go out there
and never return
