a single poem in time I captured with my wife |
| I remember crickets chirping, Owls hooting, dogs barking, And coyotes howling. I remember the humid air And a calm breeze rustling The leaves of trees. I remember the full moon And the stars that illuminated The darkness. I remember the wish we made On the shooting star and The kiss that came afterwards. I remember the tenderness of The kiss and the way it lingered In the hot air. I remember her smell, A sweet mix of perfume And a citrus body lotion. I remember the cool, damp, Smooth grass rubbing against My bare back. I remember her dark hair Messily falling out of the Pony tail it had been in. I remember the softness of Her skin and the sweat between Our bodies as two became one. I remember whispering the Three words in her ear and Feeling no regrets. I remember the sweetness Of her voice as she replied With the same. I remember our breathing Together as I pictured our Future. I remember. |
