A kind of unrequited love poem

If I told you
I love you
Would you mind?

If I told you
I needed you
Would you reply?

Would you just stand still
And stare?
Or would you
Hold me and tell me
You care?

When things get tough
Would you run and hide?
Or would you stand by me
And do so with pride?

Would you love me
And leave me
Or stay by my side?

Would you tell me
The truth
If I told you
I love you
Would you mind?
