See a child's dreams. Hear a woman's reality. |
| Once upon my little girl dreams, I saw a woman standing proud. People were applauding her with reverence, When she spoke there was silence in the crowd. Once upon my little girl dreams, I saw her accomplish great things. Awards and diplomas hung on her walls. She had the knowledge of a genius, the following of kings. Once upon my little girl dreams, I saw her smiling every moment. Children tugged at her gown, a husband kissed her cheek She was ultimately content. Once upon my womanhood dreams, I saw an ambitious little girl. Lots of plans ran through her head, Maybe she’d be a doctor or the wife of an earl. Once upon my womanhood dreams I saw a man pluck her virtue. He ripped away her hopes and dreams. What was her future? What would she do? Once upon my womanhood dreams, I saw a child at her feet. She was a child raising a baby. Who would she turn to? Poverty, would she ever defeat? Once upon my life’s reality, I dream of things to be. Hopes of joy and prosperity run through my head. I Will Be Someone Someday You’ll See!! |
