My break-up

Things had changed
I could see it in the way you looked at me
By the way you carried yourself.
I should have noticed;
Realised when you didn't say it anymore

You said it was because it demeans it;
Now I realise that was a lie.
I didn't want to believe it but;
So I lived on in my blissful ignorance.
Never giving it a second thought.

You said you loved me
That we'd try to work it out.
Then you brought my world crashing down with those words;
"Bec it's over; you do realise that?"
And with that our happy existence was ruined.

"I haven't loved you for the last month" you said;
When I questioned you.
Why did you lie to me?
I deserved so much better
From you.

I deserved it in person;
Not a message.
I deserved an explanation;
I deserved better;
From you.

I deserved a chance to explain;
A chance to try again.
I deserved better than what;
You gave to me.

I deserved better;
And yet, I can't
Hate you, despise you or let you go.
Even though I deserved better....
I want it again.
