encased in ice
slivers piercing my flesh
imprisoned by winter's wrath
my heart dormant 'neath this breast

a world of steely grey
viewed through uncaring eyes
hardened by surroundings
impaled with razored lies

from lonely shadows i sit
your warmth does abound
dissolving my torment
thawing this solid ground

the clouds have parted, if only for a moment...behold it is a sunny day
