How many times can a heart break?
How many times can a soul be lost?
How many times will we do what's wrong
regardless of the cost?
Why do we try to throw the blame
when it belongs soley to us?
Why do we put our confidence in those
we know we cannot trust?
Why is it so hard just to love
instead of fight?
Why do we turn our backs
toward our loved ones at night?
Why do we wait for funerals
to express the love we feel?
Why do we go through life
acting anything but real?
Why do we cling to the painful
memories of the past?
Why do we pursue things
we know will never last?
Why are we so selfish?
Why can't we open up our hearts
instead of judging others
and tearing lives apart?
