My Hatred

How I feel when people fight and scream at me.

My body hums with rage
I can feel my face burning
Why do you treat me like this?
I’m not a child
I will not jump when you shout
I will not come running when you call
You are not my master, you are not my keeper
I can move on to a better place
The embarrassment you caused will haunt me
The hurt you bestowed upon me will affect my future
Have you no shame?
I am your equal, a human too
Do not look down on me, do not berate me
You have caused enough sorrow
Enough is enough.
