A poem about finding one's self. |
| Who is this child I see staring back at me In the mirror of my soul, Crying to be loved, Seeking understanding ears. Who is this youth I see staring back at me In the mirror of my soul, Crying to be heard, Seeking an identity all her own. Who is this adult I see staring back at me In the mirror of my soul, Crying to be believed in, Seeking a purpose for living. Who is this old woman I see staring back at me In the mirror of my soul, Crying to be seen, Seeking something to soothe the pain. Who is this person? I know her not. For in not knowing her, I do not know my own face. I am a mystery unto myself. |
