| Runt of the Litter Although he was little His mind was so great But his body just wouldn’t agree. He couldn’t get to the milk ‘though he pushed and he shoved Survival but a matter of degree. Then something changed Someone lent him a hand His position in life far more sure. He was facing new hope Food was more than a dream Life in him blossomed quite pure. That day was the beginning A fresh start, a new feeling Life, he decided was good. So he pushed and he shoved His strength he kept building His desire to succeed meant he could. All the others soon went ‘though he never knew where A new life he began with a friend. He never gave up He rose to the challenge And he overcame all in the end. |
