spiritual struggle with self

I wanted your forgiveness
though I knew I didn't deserve it
chose to go against your word
thinking it may be worth it
but through experience comes knowledge and through knowledge comes wisdom
I learned if I continued on that path I'd never make it to your kingdom
tried to surrender my all
but continued to fall
atempting to do it on my own
not realizing I can't make it alone
still so much to learn
to know your ways I'd have to yearn
in order for my soul to be saved
have to train my flesh to behave
die to myself and allow you to guide me
feed on your word daily and grow stronger in faith as you walk beside me
