And I answer, “No, it was shattered.”

They always advise: “Wait ‘til you feel this way."
And I counter, “I won’t, that’s not meant for me.”

They always flaunt: “I’ve never felt like this before!"
And I whisper, “I used to, once…”

They always smile: “I’m so completely happy.”
And I mutter, “I’m happy being alone.”

They always exclaim, “It’s just like in the movies!”
And I cry, “I wouldn’t know.”
