TAKE TO HEART

Take to heart the words of this Book
It is food for your souls health.
There's no other book quite like it
It is packed with heavenly wealth.
Do not let a day go by without a swim
in it's holy streams
Then God's sure to bless you always
fill your thoughts and words and dreams.

When you've taken in what it says
then be sure that you obey
Do not lay aside His commands
Keep to Him throughout the day
In this world that's full of trial
you must fight temptation's lure
Cry out for His Holy Spirit!
He knows how to keep His pure.

So that when this life is ended
you may rest in God's strong arms
by the blood that Christ once offered
You'll be safe from this world's harms.
Having finished life's long battle
You may lay aside this sword
And join in the sweet communion
at the table of the Lord!
