Eyes like pale blue marble,
hard as stone,
but bendable,
over time and with patience.

Seeing the world differently,
through such unyielding portals,
it may never return
what he believes a kind glance.

I pity that boy
with his pale marble eyes
because they will never
allow innocence
its fair chance.
