Those endless nights
When you’d rant and rave
Underneath my bed I’d hide
Safely in my cage

Over your anger
And through my tears
I’d be invisible
I’d disappear…

I’d dream of places where I’d soar
Above the horizons glow
A place of princes and horses
To protect me from your blow

“Mummy please no” I’d cry
As you came at me once more
Just a little more I died
Every time I hit the floor…
