An idea for a RAW poem based on 'bliss' that I decided not to use. |
| Dance of the Seven Veils At end of day when dusk pulls us home We meet and hug and shed the veil of workplace politics. It slithers to the floor as we hug hello, Kicked aside, ignored by our pup who is on floor patrol As unworthy of her attention. As dusk shimmers into night we relax into our computer chairs Sharing bits and pieces of our day. We laugh and tight shoulder muscles loosen. We are ourselves with no masks. Veil of night shimmers with stars peeking through the skylight. Light shed eons in the past lights your face And I see your heart. Clothes land where they are dropped, Unnecessary trappings of a practical world. You push my hair out of my face saying You want to see my eyes, my essence, my soul. Blankets kicked off the bed, Too warm In the heat we create, Sheets too confining as we shed our inhibitions. With absolute clarity, With nothing but heart between us We meld covered only In sheer bliss. |
