I wrote this in grade eight for a creative writing assignment. |
| A Disturbing Revelation Out from the dark and into the clear, I'm floating weightless and free. A birds eye veiw reveals a young girl, worn and lost amoungst a great valley of death. Many lie cold, and still around her, a reminder of the war that had seized her homeland. Feilds that had once held her many fond memories are still robbed of the laughter that had once came with children at play quieted of the birdsong that had rang out an echo to the skies above it. Dark, sunken eyes, long flowing hair such a pitiful beauty. Lonely and forgotten she lays, lifeless Her reflection in the water a slight ripple in the dead calm I am siezed by the terror of remberance, unwanted understanding In a flash, war, fear, death it all comes back A quick glance and I realize this girl so lost in forever could no longer be considered "she" because, "she" is me. |
