Silly Song

A song that comes to me when I don't want to get out of bed in the morning!

This is a silly song I've made up over many mornings of not wanting to rise or shine. Many of you are old enough to remember when the Toys 'R' Us commercials actually had a kid's choir singing the theme song, not just one guy whistling it; that song was my inspiration for this.

I really just wrote this for fun, but I'd welcome some comments, since I don't often do poetry.

Lazy-Ass Bum
Sung to the tune of “Toys R Us Kid”

I don’ wanna get up,
I’m a lazy-ass bum,
There’s a hundred things I need to do
But sleeping’s more fun!

I don’ wanna get up,
Just gonna stay in bed,
Gonna pull my little pillow
Right up over my head!

From work, to class,
To cutting the grass,
There’s a thousand things if there’s one,
I don’ wanna get up, cuz honey til they’re done,
I just can’t be a lazy-ass bum!
