LOVE LINES

If you knew you were the one I loved
perhaps you wouldn't just turn away;
There might be a tender moment when
you paused to look, smile and stay.

Your hand would brush against my hand
and then your eyes would tell the story,
of understanding and the need for me
to experience all love's glory.
******
If you knew you were the one I loved
there could never be a turning back;
only promises for the future years
and a sky turned sunny blue from black.
******
You would know long before I told you
that my answer would be a gentle "yes",
and together we would face the world,
if you knew, this chance would never pass.
******
If you knew you were the one I loved
there would never be a doubt or fear,
so I'm writing you these love lines
in hope that you will see and hear -
******
If you knew - and now you know -
My darling, that I love you so!
