my brick wall

this is a poem i wrote about the walls i have around my heart, and the boy who broke them

Brick upon brick
Stone upon stone
Chain on chain
Lock on lock
A broken heart

Hidden from you
I swore I wouldn’t
Let you find the key
Nevertheless, here I stand
Watching as slowly
lock by lock and
Chain by chain

You start to undo
The pain and the hate
then as stone by stone
And brick by brick
You find your way
In to my heart

And if you should break it
Slowly ill build
Till brick by brick
And stone by stone
every chain and lock
Is back where it belongs
Cause here I swear
That no more
Will my heart be broke

If you are willing to take the risk
Then slowly take it down
However, be prepared
For what you find
For here I warn
It wont be a pretty

A brick wall
A stonewall
Chains and locks
It is my defense
From boys like you

And if you take the time
You can learn
That I’m not the girl
I tend to seem.
