Memories of the beach combine with dreams of the future. |
| My Dreams and my plans, Like castles of sand, I fashion with care, On life’s shifting sands. Each tower and spire, Each wall and each gate, I fashion yet stronger, More beautiful and great. But reality strikes, Like a great ocean wave, And nothing is left Of all that I gave. Time after time I build them again Only to find I lose, not win. I envy my friends, Whose castles all stand. The ocean’s great waves They always withstand. I cry to my Father, “This just isn’t fair! My life is a mess. Do You even care?” With tender embrace He shows me the way. Says, “Here is the plan. Try it My way.” “Let Me rule your life, Just hold to My hand. Together we’ll build A castle that stands.” |
