As I look outside my home a view that I enjoy...

Dawns The Daylight

Comes the dawn of a new day
Rays and shards of light emerge
The sun peeks through the shadows
The darkness of night purged

Chasing the moon across the horizon
Through the leaves the sun does gleam
Compelling the colors to come to life
Sun fills the sky with its great beam

Rays of this day spear through the leaves
Like arrows racing to their mark
The blanket of fog hovers so lightly
As the heat penetrates the trees' bark

The shimmering ray finds the pond
A light breeze moves leaves to and fro
The slight lingering smell of pine
Flight begins with a solitary crow

The birds awaken to sing their songs
In the breeze the smells of a new day
Animals discover the night leaving
Adrift comes the mingled aroma of hay

Seeing the dampness in the wind
We feel the mist and know the dew
A lizard navigates his way up a limb
As the sun shines brightly through.
