Violent Father

An abusive father - is there hope for the son?

He doesn't feel lonely
Not even scared
He has had his feelings
Stripped and bared
He now is empty
Nothing inside
He doesn't feel fear
And won't try to hide
But once in awhile
Feelings seep back in
If someone helps
His feelings can win
Feelings could become a part
Of that emotionless man
Bring him back
Help him stand
Hope he'll forget
The angry voice
Pray that he might make
The better choice
When he marries
Not to hit
Not to scream
And throw a fit
You know the old saying
"Like father, like son"
Hopefully it's not true
Pray that he's the one
Who won't do the beating
The hitting
The yelling
The spitting
Of those angry words
He'll have a better life
And always cherish
His beloved wife
