a starship is forced down on an unknown planet by a mysterious force

In the mist of a field lay a great starship with immense bulk. For what seems like an eternity, a winged lifeform sits perched atop the craft that once was communiting through the cosmos. A stranger knows what is about to happen and will not interfere. Two crewmembers are laboring outside the ship when they hear a deep growl echoing form the bow of the ship. They investigate and their work day is ended, to say the least.
