Dragons Bait

Poem I wrote based on a book by Vivian Vande Velde called Dragon's Bait.

Dragons Bait


She sits and waits in darkness
under the glowing moon
she's waiting for the dragon
to come and consume

She sees his shadow
she cowers down in fear
tears overwhelm her
as the dragon draws near

he comes down beside her
she's scared out of her mind
he turns into a human
and assures her he is kind
