ok, kinda cheesy. just one of my random poems

Lives forgotten,
Stories untold,
No one remembers
Those days of old.
One day a hero,
The next, just a face,
The greatest wonders
From history erased.
A respected figure,
Once given praise,
Looked back on now;
It fails to amaze.
Battles they won,
Discoveries they made,
From our memories
Quickly they fade.
They once were great,
They once were bold,
Now their lives are forgotten,
Their stories untold.
