To Give Unto You

This poem is a prayer for God's blessings.

I look to the heavens
And I beseech unto God:

Give me the patience,
To always wait for you.

Keep me ever humble,
To accept your will over mine.

Help me maintain my faith,
So never again will I doubt.

Remind me of my promise,
To be committed to your word.

With the innocence of a child,
Open my eyes to all your wonders.

Fill me with your courage,
To face a hardened world.

I yearn for your wisdom,
So my trials don’t seem so hard.

Forgive me when I sin,
I long to someday touch your face.

Never quench my thirst,
To know you better every day.

Use me as your instrument,
To show others who you are.

Illuminate my path
So I never will get lost.

I want always to remember,
What Jesus did for me.

Fill my heart with joy,
So I can praise you ever more.
