Does it every really come?

is there really such a thing as love?

Does love really come
for those of us who wait?
Will we honestly ever
find our true soul mate?

It seems to me that
love is so extremely harsh.
It keeps you feeling like
you’re running through the marsh.

Why can’t I be like others
and take whatever comes my way?
Not worrying what others think
and have no price to pay.

I’ve spent my life in search of
the perfect man for me.
Now, I have to ask myself if
it will ever be.
