Your story and characters are believable. What you left out of your story might be more enticing to readers than what is easily seen by readers. I kinda saw the ending early in the story. They were alone. He planned the get-together but told her he over-ordered. She believed his motives, but I suspected she had an interest in him, so went along with the story he created.

Her reactions or more importantly those she didn't exhibit told me she already wanted a close relationship with her mentor.
