Spontaneous writing can make for a very surreal read. There is certainly a lot of thought put in to this piece, conscious or not. Some fantastic descriptive phrases; I especially like the second sentence in the second paragraph. I like the logic in this too; as described in the arriving late sentence.
This is definitely a piece of writing that inspires a lot of thought. Well done!
