Saw this in "Invalid Item" Open in new Window..
I know this is just an experiment (or an exerpt) of horror, but it’s not bad for as short as it is.
What stands out to me is that you managed to bring a couple of the senses into this: sights and smells. All good stories should incorporate the five sense, but it’s not often I see writers using the sense of smell.
You did a nice job with the descriptions, as well as giving the reader a good hook with what the figure did with that saw. And bringing the caribou into it with its possible telepathy was another nice touch.
In short, it sounds like a good book jacket introduction.
