What brought tHiNg to glide in a space time continuum over to your port?

*Cow* I the judge for today in "The Writer's CrampOpen in new Window.. Thanks for entering!

What does tHiNG think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* You did a fine job of building up the suspense in your short story. The title incorporates the prompt, which is very effectively used there and throughout the story. The notion of trust and who a young person should put their trust in is a fine subject to be developed with such well drawn characters as you have here.

One thing I noticed at the end. At first I wasn't sure you meant that Julia never saw him again instead of the teacher. Then I reread it and I realized it could be both.

What does tHiNG applaud about while reading your item?

I like the notion that you never know what is going on in the mind of someone else. Julia acted on her instincts, which she seems to trust. In playing with Sean a bit, she discovered he was probably the last person that she should get to know. Then I had the chilling feeling that he was also probably the last person she should play with, also.

I like how you reveal Julia's good sense through her reaction to Sean. That is especially fine character development and you do it so well in a relatively short piece of writing. It actually sounds like you could expand things into a longer work if you are of a mind to do so. I enjoyed reading this very much and I think you did a creative and imaginative job with the prompt.

Well done!

P.S. I am someone who loves to read and review. That is a pretty simple statement and it is true, in the spirit of Ernest Hemingway, who once said, "Write one true thing." *Heart*
