Hi 🌑 Darleen - QoD ![]() I was searching for something to read and review from your portfolio and took this as an opportunity to gift you some reviews for your WDC Anniversary and found this poem in the contents. The title of your work was very nice and it filled the reader with warmth and nice, fuzzy feelings. That was until I read the brief description and the emotions were reversed and I found even more captivated towards reading it. The reader wanted to know, automatically, what kind of a poem you had written on memories and what kind of a heartbreak it was. I was familiar with the form you had used in your work (Kyrielle) and it worked quite well with your poem. The rhyming scheme was consistent and all the requirements for the poetry form chosen were met. The flow of your poem was very good, there was no interruption at all. The pace of your work was just perfect, it was neither too fast nor too slow when I was reading it out loud. The choice of the line to repeat 'Memories; master of my mind' was very clever, indeed! It was worded amazingly and enhanced your work. The beginning of your work was excellent, I loved how you referred to heartbreak as a place, rather than a situation and an emotion. It was a different way to approach the subject of heartbreak, the pain, and the reader was quite impressed with it. My favourite stanza was the third one, I really admired how you had conveyed very raw, powerful and deep emotions to the reader. You captured the reality quite well. When we are facing troubles and problems, pain that is too much for us to bear, our natural and first instinct is to run away from it, avoid it. However, sooner or later, you realize everything and there is no stopping to the pain and the ears that flow. ![]() Excellent poem filled with deep emotions! Thank you for sharing your work with us!
