Hi, tonyb I'm really glad I read this. It is my pleasure to both read and comment on your work on behalf of "SIMPLY POSITIVE GROUP" Open in new Window.. Here's what I *Heart* about "Invalid Item" Open in new Window. -

1) Its raw brutal honesty. You didn't flinch or shy away from such a horrible subject matter, or the difficult themes introduced here. The world has a dark and evil side, and it needs to be revealed.

2) It is unimaginable to me that the best friend really confronted the school nurse during the funeral! I can understand the outrage she must have felt to do that, but I'm still stunned that she did.

3) As a teacher who've had many students die (2 from cancer, hundreds from a tsunami) I can say that no one ever wants these things to happen. So much is expected of teachers and school nurses beyond what a 'job' calls for, and many teachers and school staff do go above and beyond the call of duty because of their own passion and love for their students. Unfortunately this isn't the case for everyone who works in a school.

Thank you for sharing this tragic but important story. Keep writing!
