Hi, Jace!
I just happened to stumble on this, and I'm so glad I did!
First of all, I can't thank you enough for putting these pics out here! I was born and raised in Anchorage, and every summer my father and I would make it to Seward for The Seward Silver Salmon Derby where they tagged 2 $5,OOO salmon and 1 $10,000 salmon for the 2 week duration of the derby. We also spent a lot of time in Homer, and sadly, my mother passed away in Hope. But to see these pictures of my home state really brings back some fantastic memories for me! I know the moose up there have gotten out of hand (they're even walking down 5th Avenue in Anchorage, the main 'drag' of Anchorage, right in the center of the city!
So beautiful! I'm surprised you don't have a pic of The Sleeping Lady (Mt. Susitna), across the Cook Inlet from Anchorage. It's gorgeous in the summer evenings!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for showing these, as well as the memories. I haven't been back there since '86, unfortunately.
On a side note, Anchorage is very big city now, and it's really changed in recent years (not for the better), and although I'd like to visit it again, I would not want to live there!
Kee ponw ritin gon, thanks again, and have a most marvelous day!
