| A Farmer In The Fifties 1/2002 Farming dilemmas in the 1950's. |
| Greetings, FivetricksterTreats! My name is Lady Cubbyella and I am one of the sly foxes from the House of Florent. Title: A Farmer in the Fifties First Impression: I'm a huge fan of lyrics. What I love about reviewing lyrics, is that I don't feel like the meter needs to be so perfect in comparison to a traditional poem. When singing with an instrument (or without), the words can be stretched out or quickened, so that's what I like about lyrics. What needs your attention: I like it just the way it is, but I did notice you don't have a chorus (or refrain) but hey... You are the songwriter, so it's up to you, right? What part I liked best: I really like how you captured that era. Back then, farming was a way of living--a job that fed the family and paid the bills. In today's world, you don't see many farms that make it without a second income, unless they are a humongous operation! And people actually go to college to be a farmer. So much has changed. My hubby's grandpa was a farmer all his life. Life was a lot different back then. Overall impression: I'm glad I found this piece in your port. Do you sing? Maybe you could send these lyrics to Blake Shelton or some other country singer. I can already visualize the music video! Thank you for allowing me to read your work. It has been my pleasure. Have a great day and... Cubby ")
